St. Joseph Hospital’s Annual Gala Raised Over $130K for Emergency Department
St. Joseph Hospital’s annual gala raised over $130K for future emergency department improvements. The event, held in early May at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, welcomed nearly 300 guests, including three honored guests, and their families, who were recognized for their contributions to the hospital and the community.
This year’s honorees included, Adam Carpentieri, DO, dedicated past medical staff president; Tommaso Addona, MD, recognized in the Physician of Excellence category; and Benno Ansbacher, community honoree and recipient of the You Made A Difference award.
St. Joseph’s Emergency Department, a designated Stroke Center, cares for approximately 34,000 patients a year providing a full spectrum of care for emergency conditions including respiratory problems, orthopedic injuries, appendicitis, gastrointestinal disorders, infectious disease, strokes and cardiac conditions. In fact, over 95 percent of inpatient admissions originate from the emergency department. The future renovation will help reduce emergency wait times and improve patient flow so the hospital can continue to focus on treating patients’ emergencies. The enhanced patient flow will allow for quicker Emergency Department door-to-bed time for all patients. Additionally, upgrades to the department will increase capacity, modernize the space, provide enhanced privacy, upgrade security and increase environmental sustainability.
Event sponsors included Progressive Emergency Physicians, The Hospitalist Group, New Island Diagnostic Imaging, The Central Orthopedic Group, Hunter EMS, Kerley, Walsh, Matera & Cinquemani, PC; Long Island Plastic Surgery Group; Massapequa Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing; RestorixHealth; Montfort Healy McGuire & Salley LLP; Mutual of America; Pathology and Laboratory Consultant of Long Island, PLLC; Central Island Healthcare; Daleview Care Center; Furey, Furey, Leverage, Manzione & Darlington, P.C.; Ihab & Hanaa Ibrahim; Lizardos Mechanical & Electric Engineering; Long Island Surgical, PLLC; Daniel Haller, MD & Omar Wain, DO; Barbara Anne Smith; Belair Nursing & Rehabilitation Center; Kings Hardware West; Matty K Travel/Castle Vacations; Miracle Pest Solutions; Nassau County Police Medic Association; Ultimate Class Limousine; Zorn’s of Bethpage; Advanced Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration, Inc.; Assured Environments; Ralph & Clara Atoria; Nancy Carr; John & Susanne Morahan; and Donna Papillo.
