June 3rd, 2019

St. Joseph Hospital, a member of Catholic Health Services, has been awarded a three-year term of accreditation in ultrasound as the result of a recent review by the American College of Radiology (ACR). ACR Accreditation is recognized as the gold standard in medical imaging and represents the highest level of image quality and patient safety.

“We are very proud to add the ultrasound ACR accreditation to our existing list of imaging credential, as offering top-notch and safe imaging services to our patients and their families is at the core of what the radiology staff at St. Joseph Hospital does every day,” said Stuart Fales, RT, director of radiology at St. Joseph Hospital. “It’s a vigorous review process to get accredited; therefore, many thanks to the staff for their hard work, commitment to imaging excellence and outstanding customer service.”

Currently, St. Joseph Hospital is also accredited in CAT scan, MRI, nuclear medicine and mammography.

The ultrasound accreditation program involves the acquisition of clinical images, submission of relevant physician reports corresponding to clinical images submitted, and quality control documentation.
